Understanding Device Capabilities
When running a speed test, it's important to keep in mind that the results might vary slightly if the tests are taken within a few minutes of each other. This variation can be due to network congestion and the available bandwidth at the time of testing.
To ensure accurate results, make sure you are testing the same connection.
- If one device is connected via Wi-Fi and the other is not, you're essentially testing the speeds of different connections.
- It's also recommended to test to the same server. While most Speed Test Sites automatically choose a server based on ping, you also have the option to manually select a server for testing.
It's worth noting that there can be significant differences in Wi-Fi and cellular radio quality, as well as MIMO stream handling quality, between devices. These differences can lead to one device delivering slower test results compared to another device or computer.
